In this article we are going to be taking a look at some of the best books you can buy if you are interested in learning more about the art of web development.

This list isn’t an exhaustive list of all the best books currently available, it’s just a small list of books I feel are excellent at teaching the basics. If you have any you would like to add then please let me know in the comments section.

Web Design with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery Set

Web Design with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery Set This set of 2 books that each cover HTML + CSS and Javascript and jQuery respectively are excellent primers into the world of web development. They are very well written and definitely look gorgeous and you can most definitely judge the book based of it's cover in this scenario. Overall these are excellent primers that get you up and running creating websites.

Whilst I am not typically a fan of jQuery and personally would opt for frameworks such as Angular and React, it is an excellent framework for people who don’t necessarily need the full power of these javascript frameworks and instead just want to make gorgeous interactive websites.

Learning Web Design: A Beginner’s Guide to HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Web Graphics

Best Books for Learning Web DevelopmentLearning Web Design (4th Edition) by Jennifer Niederst Robbins is an outstanding book for beginners wishing to come up to speed with creating beautiful websites and has received hundreds of rave reviews from customers who have already bought the book. This is definitely a classic that would not be out of place in any web developers library.

For the price of $49.99 this may be somewhat pricey but I’ve seen it drop down to the low $30s on Amazon.com so I would encourage you to wait for a good deal. Saying that though, if you can afford to part with the full RRP then this book is definitely worth every penny.
